For the first time in recent history of our country, an economic crisis coincides with a significant presence immigrants. The answer to this situation, according to surveys, is an increase in feelings of racism and xenophobia. By 46 am of the English believed that their presence is "excessive" and 31 percent described as "high" as with the study "Evolution of racism and xenophobia in Spain (2009)", Ministry Working and Immigration. It is clear that given what we know not react in fear. For many are strangers who come to take our welfare, our culture, our religion, our work and our security.
The Church calls to humanize our culture, recognizing the human dignity and rights of all working poor, including immigrants. The Church we are to become, from the Gospel and social teaching, the affective and effective love and real solidarity with immigrants. Christians have a mission to light a new society. Our parishes should be laboratories of coexistence and fraternity. The fraction "In the Church, nobody is a foreigner" should be more than a slogan and become the north of our feeling, thinking and acting.
The HOAC, under the slogan "Immigrants: Breaking boundaries, building humanity" invites you to share the lives of these brothers ours. Meet them, get close to them, let me tell their story. Do not give them back, share with them, because that is what humanizes us and makes us happy.
