Health Workers in the province of Buenos Aires
A colleague describes the employment situation in their sector
In hospitals and other agencies of the Ministry of Health of the province of Buenos Aires there are nurses who are "fellows", who have no contributions or ART or social work. Neither the right to vacations or medical folders, the only thing they recognize is on maternity leave. There are also social workers who are acting as "loan" from other ministries. In addition, health promotion work (without pay), which are now gaining a scholarship "contingency", until December, under the same conditions as nurses.
It is also the case of doctors working for family health insurance. The family health insurance is a service "outsourced" the Ministry of Health of the province, through the Medical Federation of Buenos Aires (FEMEBA). This is an agreement by which doctors charge patients treated by taking base of 1400 patients per month (about 70 per day!) To get charged 2500 pesos, of which 400 are left FEMEBA.

Physicians (which had not been paid since March) claimed last month that he owed everything, but now it seems they will not be revived until December or January. The obstetricians are not paid since March and the College of Obstetricians decided to suspend the agreement until paid FEMEBA, without consulting the workers.
